Massage is the oldest form of touch-healing art known to humans and has been practiced for thousands of years. When there are aches and pains it is a natural instinct to place your hand over the area, to touch a bruise or an aching muscle. Massage has developed from this instinct to relieve pain and discomfort. In today’s society, the pressures of work, money and relationships have caused us to become increasingly stressed. As a result, it has become important to find healthy and effective ways of dealing with these pressures. Massage stimulates and encourages the body to carry out its normal functions. Swedish Massage involves working the soft tissues of the body using medium pressure to ease stress and muscular tension, and also to promote relaxation.

What to Expect
I will carry out a short consultation prior to the massage in order to tailor the treatment to your needs. Please ensure that there is enough space for the massage couch and for me to move freely around it. It is also important that your room is at a warm comfortable temperature as the body tends to cool down quickly. I provide all equipment required for treatment including a heat pad to keep you warm but feel free to provide an extra blanket if you think you may need it. Swedish massage is carried out using high quality cold-pressed oils.
